Job summary

Procter & Gamble Greensboro site seeks an experienced Site Data Activation Leader to own OT data pipelines and data presentation. You will manage data infrastructure (PLC, HMI, historians) and publish data to CDL, coordinating with ICA owners and the Digital Technologies team.

You will lead data architecture, standards and edge-to-cloud strategies, working across site teams to ensure timely data access and data quality. This role requires onsite work in Greensboro, NC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiar with ICA/OT and automation technologies including Rockwell, Siemens, FactoryTalk and Aveva.
  • Ability to describe data requirements using ICA/OT terminology and specify components needed.
  • Basic networking, databases and historians concepts relevant to OT data.
  • Experience with Grafana and InfluxDB is a plus.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Greensboro, NC five days a week.

Job Location GREENSBORO SWING ROAD PLANT Job Description

The Site Data Activation Leader is a key role that drives effective connection between the ICA/OT systems and other plant/company digital systems. This includes identifying high-value data in the PLC, HMI and other OT systems, and implementing and configuring the data pipeline to MDF, Edge-to-Cloud, AI Factory, and other higher-level data systems. The Site Data Activation Leader reports to the Site Digital Technologies Leader and works closely with the Site Data Asset Manager, other Digital Platforms Team resources, and site/department ICA resources.

Responsibilities
1. Overall Ownership for OT data pipeline and data presentation strategy
  • Develop and own the standards and architecture for implementing and maintaining all OT data pipelines and ensuring data is fit for use for customers (data analyst/scientist, process engineers, category solutions).
  • Act as Site technology owner for infrastructure and systems intended for data production, including Smartbox, Historians, data servers and remote access managers in the iDMZ, and the site data bus.
  • Responsible for safeguarding data integrity and recovery
  • Responsible to publish site owned data to the Corporate Data Lake (CDL)
2. Lead the Execution for response to site OT data requests
  • Single point contact for all OT data requests – which includes receiving requirements, identifying the target system(s) and finding the OT-level data (i.e. tag parameter), aligning with control systems owner(s) on the pipeline implementation, and executing the configuration – which may include entering tags into the collection system.
  • Navigate and execute activities required to meet existing site OT processes - including change control, CQV and validation.
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance, auditing and troubleshooting data pipeline issues.
3. Networking and Collaboration
  • Work closely with Site Data Asset Manager, Data Analysts (when in place) and all Data Consumers; and will serve as single point contact for all departments’ ICA connectivity requests.
  • Partner with the OneNet team to support and drive OT network 4.0 standards.
  • Collaborate with site Proficy users to ensure effective and timely implementation and support the work of other teams to provide seamless data access (e.g. Badboih, Smartbox, other historians).
  • Leverage site ICA resources (Dept ICA leaders and E&I techs and Automation leaders) and partner with Site Digital Technologies Organization (CSL, DTO, IT Operations, Data Asset Mgmt) to implement data pipelines and drive plant digital culture.
  • Participant in the P&G Data management COP (community of practice) and ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Contribute to the digital upskilling program for the site in partnership with the site digital team and IWS E&T pillar leader.
4. Technical Leadership
  • Identify, prioritize and advocate for the systems and architecture required to provide seamless connections to OT data.
  • Implements and Follows standards and best practices for PS cybersecurity, OneNet OT 4.0, MDF and other site data models including edge applications and edge to cloud requirements.
  • Responsible for documenting the data architecture, data model, and implementation standards for the site.
  • Build capability in the site OT resources for data modeling and interface to data pipeline systems; educate data consumers on the functions and limitations of the OT systems, how they can improve their data requests, and how to leverage the work of other data consumers.

Job Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiar with ICA/OT and automation technologies including Rockwell, Siemens (if applicable), FactoryTalk and/or Aveva, Engineering systems (Studio, System Platform, etc)
  • Ability to communicate using ICA/OT terminology and specifically describe data and required components/programming needed to access it including potential for implementing new tags/routines/interfaces.
  • Basic skills in Networking including OT 4.0, servers/virtualization, applicable databases and process historians.
  • Basic skills in Smartbox implementation (or general control edge computing) – with specific skills in Grafana, InfluxDB, and other applicable site systems.
  • Basic skills in Data architecture framework, data engineering and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with IWS tools and methodologies (DDS, AM, PM), change control, validation protocols, managing multiple priorities to deliver results in a dynamic production environment.
  • Capable of executing with excellence, setting priorities, and developing effective plans.
  • Willing to provide guidance and coaching to ICA resources, site digital team, and data customers.
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Greensboro, NC site.
Preferred
  • Intermediate skill for all site ICA/OT and automation technologies including Rockwell, Siemens (if applicable), FactoryTalk and/or Aveva, Engineering systems (Studio, System Platform, etc), with preference for Basic skills in applicable warehouse technologies.
  • This role may not include direct modifications to department control systems, but requires ability to communicate using ICA/OT terminology and specifically describe data and required components/programming needed to access it including potential for implementing new tags/routines/interfaces.
  • Intermediate skills in Networking including OT 4.0, servers/virtualization, applicable databases and process historians.
  • Intermediate is skills in Data architecture framework, data engineering and data modeling.
  • Demonstrated capability of influencing up, down, and across the organization to achieve business needs.
