Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica (SMBGC) is seeking a Site Coordinator to join our Lincoln Middle School operations, safety, and outreach efforts. This on-site, part-time role supports programming during school year and breaks.

  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment and maintain program logistics.
  • Familiarity with supply orders and program budgeting.

Job Title: Site Coordinator

Division: Club Operations

Location: Lincoln Middle School, Santa Monica

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $25/hour

Approximate Hours: 25-29 hours per week

Work Schedule (School Year & Summer): Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends for events. This is an on-site role only and supports programming during school breaks.

The Site Coordinator is a dynamic, organized, and community focused leader responsible for supporting the operations, safety, and outreach at a Boys & Girls Club site. This role requires strong administrative and organizational skills, as well as a passion for youth development and community engagement. The Site Coordinator plays a vital role in driving outreach and membership growth by building strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners. Lead the planning and execution of exciting programming, field trips and meaningful special events that create enriching experiences for all Club members. This role serves as a primary leader in support of the Club Director at JAMS, modeling best practices and support for additional staff.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Collaborates with the Club Director and oversees YDP(s) as a key leader with presence, to lead duties at Lincoln Middle School.
  • Implements and enforces all safety policies and emergency procedures in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that supports youth development. Manages the opening and closing procedures and partners with Director of Operations on any facilities and maintenance requests.
  • Train and coach staff using a "train-the-trainer" model on curriculum facilitation, integrating technology in diverse settings, and implementing trauma-informed, social-emotional learning practices.
  • Oversees the enrollment process, maintains accurate member records, and tracks participation data for club and organizational reporting.
  • Support youth impact measurement through surveys, data tracking, and engagement with the My Club Hub database.
  • Support program and event coordination by organizing and leading special events such as holiday celebrations, volunteer events, family nights, and community service projects.
Experiences You’ll Bring
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating programming for middle school youth with an understanding of SEL and trauma-informed practice.
  • Knowledge of local school districts in Santa Monica or LA.
  • Experience supervising and managing either direct service teams, staff, volunteers, or interns. Demonstrated experiences mentoring or coaching.
  • Strong organizational, communications, documenting practices, facilitating team meetings, and managing program logistics.
  • Demonstrated experiences with holding crucial conversations, de-escalation, mentoring, and supporting youth.
  • Experience supporting or running after school programs, camps, sports programs for youth, outdoor experiences, or excursions for youth. Must be able to manage safety protocols.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate your ideas clearly and for diverse audiences. Experience with digital platforms: Teams, Zoom, Excel, PowerPoint, and case management or databases are required. Daily use of case management software and email.
  • Experience with community outreach, enrollment events, tabling, and planning field trips.

Requirements
Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate

Experience working in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or youth serving nonprofits, and program design.

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, out-of-school-time programming, or related nonprofit leadership roles.
  • At least 1 year of staff supervision experience, including onboarding or training, coaching, and performance management. Demonstrated supervision of volunteers and/or interns will be considered.
  • Understanding and experience with safety protocols when working with youth in an education or after-school setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities.
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great organizational skills, attention to detail, use of Microsoft 365 apps, databases, and general case management.
  • Familiarity supply orders and program budgeting.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the company’s insurance policy.
  • Must have one of the following: At least/minimum of 48 credit hours (combined from institutions or one institution); Earned an Associates Degree (AA conferred); Have a BA or higher; Have taken and passed CBEST minimum requirements and can provide passing certification documentation.
