Highbar is a prominent outpatient physical therapy practice located across New England.

Patient Care Coordinator

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is a key member of the clinical team that ensures excellent patient experiences and administrative excellence.

What You’ll Do:
  • Retrieve daily messages from the answering machine and update schedules accordingly.
  • Greet and direct patients, vendors, and visitors.
  • Ensure new patients complete paperwork, organize it, and add to the chart for their first appointment.
  • Answer multiple line telephone system, obtaining demographic and insurance information from new patients scheduled for an initial evaluation.
  • Collect co‑payments from patients and document transactions with receipts.
  • Manage patient appointments and cancellations, review therapist schedules, and fill openings through the medical records system.
  • Assist therapists with faxing patient information to medical offices.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurances and interpret benefit eligibility.
  • Explain benefit details to patients including authorization requirements, copays, and deductibles.
  • Initiate appropriate collection activity per company policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate payment terms with customers to minimize collection agency involvement.
  • Review essential reporting and dashboards to ensure all tasks are completed timely.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Associate degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
Compensation Package:
  • Starting at $20/hour, adjusted based on experience, skills, and role alignment.
