Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks an Intern/Co‑op – Site/Civil Engineering to join its collaborative Boston team. You will support feasibility studies, field work, report preparation, and design tasks with leadership mentorship on diverse land development projects.

You will gain hands‑on experience in site feasibility, design plans, and calculations while expanding technical and professional skills in a dynamic firm culture that values training and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; GPA 3.0+ preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates, and design documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topography using reports and drawings to inform planning and design.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments, sidewalk estimations, and feasibility analyses from data.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Apply engineering knowledge and higher mathematics to project tasks.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
