HDR Engineering is currently seeking a Civil/Senior Site Civil Engineer to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry.

Opportunities are available in these preferred locations: Atlanta, Austin, Bellevue, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Newark, New York, Omaha, Orlando, Pennington, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Sacramento/Folsom, San Antonio, Walnut Creek.

This person will be part of an integrated team responsible for the design of facility related sites in support of Data Center and other Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning to construction administration. Experience in site development and the design of building-related site civil elements (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion control) is preferred. The individual should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high-quality, technically sound civil site designs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct early project development activities including site selection, due diligence, and site planning.
  • Design and plan production for general civil projects, including site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and related civil engineering activities.
  • Conduct quantity calculations.
  • Handle permitting submittals to local authorities.
  • Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Serve as a technical expert in an area of specialization to resolve complex problems.
  • Plan and develop projects or design activities impacting major company programs.
  • Supervise work of professionals and technicians as needed.
  • Prepare and review civil engineering scope of work, budgets, and estimates.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong operating knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Experience with architectural/engineering or consulting firms preferred.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Preference for local candidates.
