HDR, Inc. seeks a Site Civil Engineer to join our Charleston, SC team. You will design and plan civil aspects for diverse projects, performing quantity calculations, preparing specs, and coordinating with teams.

The role also involves acting as a technical lead or project manager on mid-size projects and supervising staff. Requires a Professional Engineer license and strong leadership & communication skills.

HDR is looking for a Site Civil Engineer to join our team in Charleston, SC. In the role of Site Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Design and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities.
• Perform quantity calculations.
• Prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.
• Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position.
• Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Act as the engineer of record for civil design documents (Sign and Seal).

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years experience in general civil engineering
• Proficient and demonstrated applied experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Bentley Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Hydraflow Hydrographs) as required
• Local candidates are preferred
• *LI-SM1

Required Qualifications

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Good verbal and written communication skills
