Job summary

Givens Packing & Crating in Chesapeake, VA is hiring a dependable Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. You will safely load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility, using RF scanners and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Starting pay $16.00–$16.80 per hour, full-time position with weekly pay. OSHA safety compliance and a focus on accuracy, safety, and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-7 years of sit-down forklift experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
• Experience using RF scanners preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload 53-foot trailers, flatbeds, and shipping containers.
• Receive inbound shipments and stage outbound freight.
• Use RF scanners to accurately receive, locate, and pick inventory.
• Pull orders for shipment and prepare freight for delivery.
• Shrink wrap and secure pallets for shipping.
• Inspect freight for damage and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA safety procedures.
• Meet daily productivity and on-time shipping goals.
