Job summary

Iberia Foods is seeking a reliable forklift operator to safely move goods within our warehouse in New Jersey. This role supports inventory control and timely order fulfillment through accurate handling of materials and adherence to safety procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, 1–2 years of sit-down forklift experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift operator certification for sit-down forklifts.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, stack, and move products and materials within the warehouse.
• Perform daily pre-operation safety checks on the forklift and report any mechanical issues immediately.
• Accurately pick and stage orders according to pick lists and shipping schedules.
• Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
• Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of material movement.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory status, potential issues, and work progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
