Job summary

Staffmark Group in Carson, CA is hiring for a Sit Down Forklift Operator. In this full-time role you will safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, and organize palletized materials within a fast-paced warehouse.

You will inspect equipment before each shift, assist with inventory movement, and support shipping and receiving while maintaining accuracy and adhering to safety procedures. Training and opportunities for advancement are available.

Pay Rate: $19.20 per hour

Schedule: M-F 7am to 3:30pm

Job Duties

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, transport, stack and organize materials
• Inspect equipment before each use to confirm safe operating condition
• Replenish inventory locations to support ongoing warehouse operations
• Support shipping and receiving activities as needed
• Verify product movement and maintain inventory accuracy
• Follow established procedures for safe, efficient material handling
• Collaborate with team members to support production, shipping and receiving activities

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial.

Required Experience

• Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift
• Experience loading and unloading trailers
• Proficient in order picking using an RF scanner
• Knowledge of operating a shrink wrap machine and using strapping equipment
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials throughout the shift
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet productivity goals

• Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and organize palletized materials.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to accurately identify inventory, shipping documentation, and storage locations.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.
