Job summary

Austin Industrial is hiring for SIPA Multicraft in Lugoff, SC. You will work in construction, assembly, maintenance and dismantling of tubular scaffolding or temporary structures. Valid SC asbestos abatement certification and 2-3 years of field experience are required.

Position is on-site with a 5/10 schedule. Pay is competitive at $29/hour plus per diem for days worked. Benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance and a 401K match. Austin is ESOP-owned.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Determine scaffold type needed and inspect site for hazards.
• Erect, adjust, and dismantle tubular scaffolding per specs and safety rules.
• Inspect scaffold materials for defects and safety hazards; communicate hazards.
• Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation devices as needed.
• Wear PPE and maintain safety at all times on site.
• Perform duties while adhering to OSHA and company requirements.

SIPA Multicraft

The SIPA Multicraft role gives you the opportunity to work in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must have South Carolina certification in Asbestos Abatement.
• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Must be able to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrumentation devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments.
• Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.
• Other duties as assigned.
