Austin Industrial is seeking a SIPA Foreman in Lugoff, SC to lead a crew of insulators and scaffold builders, applying and repairing insulation on ducts, tanks, pipes and boilers while ensuring safety and quality.

Required are 2–3 years of insulator experience, ability to read blueprints, and capacity to work outdoors in varying weather. Pre-employment screening is required.

Pay Rate: $31/hour. Per diem: $85 paid for days worked. Schedule: 5/10's.

SIPA Foreman

The SIPA Foreman will work with a crew that will apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Must have insulator skills and experience.
• Must be able to run a crew of Insulators and Scaffold Builders.
• Reads blueprints and selects required insulation material.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
• Determine the amounts and selects required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Using tape measure or other measuring device, measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant or tape to secure insulation to the structure - according to the type of insulation used and structure covered, using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
• Must be able of working at heights.
• Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience

2-3 years of Insulator experience.

Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check, as condition of employment.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.
