SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) Manager

Join to apply for the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) Manager role at MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.).

Lead the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process and team to align demand forecasting, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations to optimize customer service levels while minimizing costs. Analyze and interpret SIOP data to support effective decision-making. Ensure the integration of data from multiple sources to improve forecasting accuracy, optimize inventory levels, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

Location options include Milwaukee, WI; Byron Center, MI; or Defiance, OH.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the SIOP team and process, facilitating cross-functional meetings with sales, operations, finance, and supply chain teams.
  • Ensure integrated business plans balance demand requirements with production capacity across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts by integrating market intelligence, customer insights, and statistical forecasting models.
  • Drive consensus between sales forecasts and operational plans to ensure realistic and achievable targets.
  • Collaborate with plant managers to optimize production schedules and capacity utilization considering equipment capabilities, material availability, and labor constraints.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance metrics, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Establish and monitor optimal inventory levels for raw materials (steel, aluminum, specialty metals) and finished goods.
  • Develop safety stock strategies that account for supply chain variability and customer service requirements.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for forecast accuracy, inventory turns, customer service levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the team, providing guidance and support to ensure success while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced planning software.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical forecasting and demand planning tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles, supply chain optimization practices, and continuous improvement methodology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to present data insights to stakeholders.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, data analytics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • APICS certifications (CPIM and/or CSCP) preferred.

Experience Requirements
