Job summary

Kennametal in Ohio is seeking a Tipset Operator for the 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM). You will prepare and assemble product heats for sintering, follow schedules, and ensure parts meet specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for a 2-year technical degree. Candidates should be comfortable standing for long periods, reading production instructions, and using basic quality checks. Kennametal offers a safety-focused environment and benefits.

Qualifications

• Preference for a 2-year technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clean, quality product and assemble into proper sintering heats.
• Select the sequence of orders to build heats according to the open furnace schedule.
• Work within standard procedures while being aware of unique batch requirements.
• Ensure the product is processed according to the proper specifications.
• Verify that the quantity and style of the product are correct.
• Inspect the product under a microscope to determine the necessary steps to remove loose powder and flashing.
• Brush and blow off one side of the product, then flip it onto foam trays to clean the opposite side.
• Return the product to a clean tray and build heats to be sintered.
• Scan the correct production information into the system.
• Scan into the furnace build once the process is complete.
• Perform press setup and operate the press as needed.
