Qualifications
  • Must have three years of recreation/leisure service management experience demonstrating knowledge of the goals, philosophy, principles, techniques, and procedures used in organizing, planning, administering, and conducting leisure time activities. General knowledge of the Marine Corps mission and MCCS programs is required.
  • Ability to assist in coordinating volunteer opportunities with command, community, and civic leaders.
  • Ability to supervise large groups and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. A Bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field is highly desirable.
  • SMP Marines are located throughout Hampton Roads, and local travel is required including nights, weekends, and holidays based on program needs. Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first three months of employment, along with food handling certification.
