Job summary

The University of Chicago Genomics Facility is seeking a Research Specialist 1 to perform single cell and micro-array services in Chicago, IL. You will operate the Facility's QC equipment, prepare DNA & RNA samples for sequencing, and maintain data and specimens under the direction of the principal investigator.

Responsibilities include literature reviews, reporting, and assisting with manuscripts. Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology/Genomics or related field plus one year of relevant

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Genomics or related field.
At least 1 year of experience in genetics facility or related lab.
Experience preparing DNA & RNA samples for sequencing.
Experience with single cell sequencing and/or micro-array experiments.

Responsibilities

Perform single cell and micro-array services for experiments.
Operate the facility's sample QC equipment (fragment analyzer, bio-analyzer, qubit, Pippin).
Prepare, analyze and maintain data/specimens (DNA & RNA) for sequencing.
Assist with reports, manuscripts and other documents.
Interact with students and laboratory staff under PI direction.
Install, set up and perform experiments.
