Job summary

University of Chicago Genomics Facility is seeking a Research Specialist 1 in Chicago, IL. You will perform single cell and micro-array services, operate QC instruments like Fragment Analyzer, BioAnalyzer, Qubit and Pippin, and support data and manuscript preparation under the PI.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Genomics or related field plus 1 year of relevant experience. Salary ranges from $59,809 to $70,000 per year with benefits.

Qualifications

• Education or experience must include: prepare DNA & RNA samples for sequencing (including pooling strategies and required core manipulations); single cell sequencing experiment and/ or micro-array experiments.

Responsibilities

• Perform single cell and micro-array services for experiments.
• Operate Facility’s QC equipment including Fragment Analyzer, BioAnalyzer, Qubit and Pippin.
• Prepare, analyze and maintain data and specimens (DNA & RNA) for sequencing or core manipulations.
• Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
• Interact with students and laboratory staff under the direction of the PI.
