Job summary

Boston School of Music Arts is looking for energetic Singing Instructors with experience in singing and piano teaching. This in-school role focuses on students aged 4 and up, including adults. Teachers will be part of a team that handles administration and marketing, with opportunities to advance.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and passionate about building a strong musical foundation. A W2 employee, not an independent contractor, will support a collaborative learning

Qualifications

  • At least 1+ years' experience teaching singing and piano to ages 5 to Adult.
  • Solid performance skills.
  • Additional instrument - a plus (Guitar, Bass).
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field preferred.
  • Ability to create a warm, engaging, and encouraging music learning experience in 1-on-1.
  • Comfortable leading small groups/bands, classroom management skills.
  • Must pass background test, showing suitability to teach children.
  • Can work independently, and follow program direction at times.

Responsibilities

  • Be trained in our lessons program
  • Keep internal lessons notes
  • Prepare students for community performances and school performances
  • May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep, or for special auditions.
  • Will teach small groups and bands (regular group pay rate - higher)

The Boston School of Music Arts, a well established area music school with two locations, is hiring Singing Instructors with Singing and Piano teaching experience. Experience with guitar (to accompany singers) helpful.

A college degree in music is NOT required, although preferred. A few of our best teachers have been people who have 3+ years of teaching experience, are experienced performers, great with children, and have an outgoing personality.

We are one of Boston's largest music schools with a few hundred students taking lessons weekly, and we offer top pay, training, take care of all administration, payments and marketing, and more. It's a great position for talented musicians who are looking to work consistently, and who have a love for working with people, helping to create new musicians. and being part of a truly special group.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Voice/Piano Faculty member to join our team!
