Job summary

The Boston School of Music Arts, a well established area music school with two locations, is seeking an energetic Drum Faculty member. The ideal candidate will teach drums and percussion to students ages 4 and up, including adults, and help provide a strong musical foundation in a welcoming in‑school setting.

W2 employee status, not an independent contractor, with opportunities for advancement and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2+ years' experience teaching drums and percussion to ages 5 to Adult.
  • Solid Drum performance skills.
  • Second instrument is a plus (Piano, Guitar, Bass).
  • Comfortable leading small groups and classroom management.

Responsibilities

  • Be trained in our lessons program.
  • Keep internal lessons notes.
  • Prepare students for community performances and school performances.
  • May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep or for special auditions.
  • Will teach small groups and bands (regular group pay rate - higher).

The Boston School of Music Arts, a well established area music school with two locations, is hiring qualified Drrum instructors. Experience with an additional instrument preferred.

A college degree in music is NOT required, although preferred. A few of our best teachers have been performers who have 3+ years of teaching experience, are experienced performers, great with children, and have an outgoing personality.

We are one of Boston's largest music schools with a few hundred students taking lessons weekly, and we offer top pay, take care of all administration, payments and marketing, and more. We are seeking an energetic and experienced Drum Faculty member to join our team! The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching students ages 4 and up, and Adults, and can help to provide a great musical foundation. This is an in-school (not in-home or online-only) position.

The successful candidate will be a W2 employee, not an independent contractor.
