Job summary

AVT Simulation is seeking a Simulator Technician II to build, maintain, repair, and operate training simulators for military and aviation programs at Ft. Benning, GA. You will ensure equipment runs smoothly and support TADSS, GMDT, and related systems.

The role requires 3–6 years of experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently, with a focus on safety and accurate record-keeping. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 3–6 years of experience maintaining and operating simulators.
• Understanding of computer systems and software, including programming and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems and ability to troubleshoot and repair them.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on simulators, including cleaning, calibration, and component replacement IAW documented PM checks and services.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with simulators and work with team to resolve problems quickly.
• Maintain TADSS and Government Furnished Property in FMC condition.
• Maintain documentation and spares/tools; follow tech data or use best commercial standards.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections of simulators prior to use.
• Review/report facility issues causing NFWT to simulator devices.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Ensure simulators comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Work with engineering to improve simulator design and manufacturability.
• Assist in setup and breakdown of training equipment and prep of simulators.
• Provide technical support to users during training sessions.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure simulators are available when needed.
