Job summary

Mission Technologies, a Division of HII, seeks an Image Generation Engineer to support Modeling, Simulation and Training at JITTC-Nellis (Nellis AFB, NV). Responsible for deploying, configuring, testing, fielding, and maintaining Aechelon Image Generators and MSDBs within JSE at the JITTC-N.

The role requires hands-on deployment, troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT and engineering teams in a high-security DoD environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, update and patch Aechelon IG systems across multi-channel operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues with IG systems and their integration with displays (monitors, projectors, VR/MR headsets).
  • Install, maintain, and repair MSDBs in a 3MLS environment across secure enclaves.
  • Ensure MSDBs are available for simulation and training purposes.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to resolve integration challenges.
  • Adhere to information security practices in multi-level secure environments.
  • Maintain data logging procedures and generate deficiency reports.

Summary

Mission Technologies, a Division of HII is seeking an Image Generation Engineer to support Modeling, Simulation and Training at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis AFB, NV. The individual’s primary responsibility will center on deployment, configuring, testing, fielding and maintaining Aechelon Technologies Image Generator (IG) and Multi-Spectral Databases (MSDB) within JSE at the JITTC-N.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • The Image Generator Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, testing, fielding, and maintenance of all Aechelon IGs and MSDB within a dynamic simulator-based environment. This will include, but are not limited to:
  • Deploy, configure, update, and patch Aechelon Technologies IG systems across multi-channel and multi-function operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising from Aechelon Technologies IG systems or their integration with various display solutions, including monitors, projectors, virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) headsets.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Aechelon Technologies MSDBs configured in a multi-level security (3MLS) environment across multiple secure enclaves.
  • Ensure seamless operation and availability of Aechelon Technologies MSDBs for simulation and training purposes.
  • Possess sufficient network administration knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to Aechelon Technologies IGs and MSDBs.
  • Collaborate with other IT and engineering teams to resolve integration challenges within a complex simulation architecture.
  • Adhere to and enforce information security best practices and procedures, particularly when working with multi-level secure environments.
  • Maintain vigilance to protect sensitive systems and data across classified enclaves.
What You Must Have
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software contexts, including integration with diverse display solutions.
  • Must have knowledge of network administration principles as they apply to simulator systems.
  • Must have awareness of and adherence to information security best practices.
  • Must have proficiency in performing configuration management and collaborating with other configuration managers.
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of managing complex systems in a high-stakes environment.
  • Must have the ability to write processes for simulator technicians and engineers.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication and organizational skills to produce and maintain technical documents and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to create and maintain data logging procedures and reports in order to identify issues and submit deficiency reports.
  • Must have had a current or active secret clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SARClearance.
  • Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strongly Prefer candidates with TS/SCI clearance or have held one in the last 24 months.
  • Experience in software design, test and implementation within DoD flight simulators.
  • Experience contributing to the system design or architecture of new and current systems.
  • Experience with Agile software practices.
  • Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Engineering, Math, and Physics may qualify with at least 1 year of C++ and/or Python experience.
  • Proficiency in Aechelon Technologies Image Generators and Multi-Spectral Databases.
  • Familiarity with Aechelon Technologies multi-level security (3MLS) configurations and secure enclave operations.
Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
