Job summary

Lodestar in Los Angeles is seeking a Software Engineer: Simulation to build and validate the environment for MITHRIL autonomy development. You'll craft high-fidelity sensor models, run software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop benches, and collaborate with perception, prediction, decision, and missions teams.

We value extreme ownership, a strong background in C++/Python, ROS 2, real-time systems, and experience with Unreal Engine or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, aerospace, robotics, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with simulation, robotics, or games
• Proficiency in C++ and Python; ROS 2 experience
• Familiarity with Linux and containerized workflows

Responsibilities

• Build the simulation environment for Lodestar's autonomy stack
• Develop high-fidelity sensor and environment models
• Create and manage SIL/HIL test benches with CI integration
• Own internal simulation tooling, telemetry, and regression frameworks
