Job summary

Insitu in Washington State is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Simulation team. You will design, develop, and test simulation software using modern languages and best practices, aligning with aircraft and system requirements.

You will collaborate with systems engineers, simulation developers, and airframe designers to implement simulations of physical and hybrid systems. You will learn to apply AI tools to improve fidelity under mentorship and contribute to documentation and code

Qualifications

• Experience in simulation development or modeling with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Solid math/physics foundation for dynamics, control, numerical methods.
• Familiarity with modular design and OO programming (C++/C#).
• Interest in fixed-wing/rotorcraft aerodynamics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test simulation software using modern programming languages.
• Develop modular simulation physics components (aerodynamics, actuators, payloads, environment).
• Collaborate with engineers to align software with aircraft and system requirements.
• Implement and refine simulations based on project needs and specs.
• Learn and apply AI tools to improve simulation fidelity under mentorship.
