Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Simulation Framework Engineer to build and migrate simulation plugins for our autonomy stack. You will develop in C++ and Python, create adapters and interfaces for AFSIM, NGTS, Aechelon, and HMSF, and collaborate with integration teams to diagnose framework issues.

You will port HMSSimBlocks features to HMSF, build baseline adapters, and ensure backward compatibility for existing programs while advancing simulation capabilities and testing coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/CS or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient in C++ and Python on Linux.
• Strong fundamentals in testing, debugging, and version control (Git).

Responsibilities

• Write, compile, and maintain adapters, plugins, and interfaces in C++ and Python for multiple simulators.
• Migrate HMSSimBlocks capabilities to HMSF while maintaining legacy support.
• Design a reusable CIGI plugin layer for visual communication with Aechelon image generators.
• Ensure extensibility of frameworks and templates for plug-in sensors or models.
• Maintain parity across CSF loading, DDS, GRID, and Hivemind SDK updates.
• Support debugging of complex simulation-autonomy issues and write tests and documentation.
