Job summary

Cerebras Systems is seeking a Software Engineer (New College Grad) to help build the core simulation infrastructure for the Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine (WSE). You will work on functional and pipeline-accurate simulation, aligned with hardware specs and product goals.

Role emphasizes strong C++ skills, computer architecture understanding, and collaboration across software and hardware teams to improve performance, testing, and tooling for internal engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong C++ programming skills and software engineering fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture concepts, including instruction execution, memory systems, and microarchitecture basics.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across software and hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain simulator infrastructure in C++ for next-generation WSE systems.
• Contribute to functional and pipeline-accurate simulation and performance visibility.
• Build features and tooling to improve kernel visibility into correctness and performance.
• Work with Design Verification and architecture teams to align simulator behavior with hardware specs.
• Maintain unit, integration, and regression test coverage for simulator quality.
• Improve simulator runtime performance, scalability, and usability.
• Debug complex issues spanning simulator models, kernels, and compiler/runtime interactions.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and engineering workflow improvements.
