Job summary

Radiance Technologies seeks a Simulation Engineer to support NASA Orion MPCV and Artemis missions in Littleton. You will develop and sustain high-fidelity spacecraft simulation capabilities using C++ and Python in a Linux environment, supporting the full software lifecycle.

Qualifications

Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a technically strong and highly collaborative Simulation Engineer to support a U.S. Government space program supporting NASA’s Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) and Artemis missions.

This position is ideal for an engineer with strong software development and simulation experience who enjoys solving complex problems in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. The successful candidate will support the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of high-fidelity spacecraft simulation capabilities supporting Orion mission operations and testing. The role requires hands-on experience with C++ and Python, real-time 6-DoF simulation, Linux development environments, the full software development lifecycle, and large-scale software systems. Experience with spacecraft systems, aerospace engineering concepts, Orion simulation environments, docking operations, or spacecraft test laboratories is highly desirable.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Littleton, Colorado or Houston, Texas. Remote work is not available. The anticipated compensation or this position is $110,000 - $135,000 based on a full-time schedule. Your compensation will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities

• Perform docking ground software systems engineering supporting Orion MPCV and Artemis 3 spacecraft missions.
• Perform docking sim software development, unit/functional testing, and verification using Agile methodologies.
• Develop, integrate, debug, and maintain simulation software using C++ and Python
• Support simulation software design, software production, integration, and verification activities
• Develop and execute unit, functional, integration, and system-level tests for simulation software
• Develop test procedures, test cases, dry runs, and other verification artifacts
• Support real-time six-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) 6-DoF simulation development and integration
• Support integration with simulation rigs, test environments, spacecraft test laboratories, and associated ground systems
• Support requirements traceability between software changes, requirements, and verification activities
• Develop or enhance user interfaces and tools that enable testers and engineers to monitor, execute, and report simulation activities
• Support configuration management and software version control using tools such as Perforce
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, test engineers, spacecraft engineers, and government customers to resolve technical issues
• Support additional engineering activities and special studies as directed by the technical lead or customer

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting spacecraft programs
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Experience developing software in C++ and Python
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, integration, testing, debugging, and maintenance
• Experience with real-time 6-DoF simulation
• Extensive experience debugging complex software and implementing sound software engineering practices within large-scale systems
• Extensive experience working in a Linux development environment
• Experience with Perforce or a comparable software configuration/version-control system
• Experience applying aerospace engineering concepts including areas such as orbital dynamics, spacecraft dynamics, fluid mechanics, or related disciplines
• Experience working within an Agile development methodology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, technical leads, government customers, and other stakeholders
• Self-motivated individual who actively and independently seeks opportunities to solve problems and improve software and engineering processes
• Experience with IBM DOORS or similar requirements management tools
