Operates a commercial paving machine used for bridge, highway, roadway/street, and large patch projects.
* Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
* Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
* Observes safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials accurately
* Operates commercial asphalt paver, including providing direction and hand signals to drivers and other employees on the paving crew
* Directs materials supply trucks into hopper
* Operates other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks
* Performs minor equipment maintenance inspections such as greasing, checking oil and fluids
* Drives company vehicles to worksites and company locations when authorized
* Performs other tasks as assigned
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* Valid driver's license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
* 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in operation of a commercial paver and related equipment preferred
* Ability to read and interpret documents, i.e., safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
* Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
* Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
* Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
* Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
* Regularly required to standing and work on feet for long periods
* Regularly required to climb on and off equipment and walk across uneven terrain
* Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods
* Frequent exposure to loud noise
* Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
* Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
* Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
* Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
Compensation* $24-$32/Hr DOE
*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
