Job summary

An Innovative Mobility Technology Company in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a SIM Triage Operator to analyze simulation and on-road data, identify issues, and route them to the appropriate teams.

You will script data extraction, maintain triage dashboards, and work with logs, sensors, video, and metadata to distinguish between tooling and autonomous vehicle stack behavior. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position staffed via HireArt and onsite.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, simulation environments, or related technical domains.
• Experience analyzing logs, sensor data, video, and metadata to identify, investigate, and categorize technical issues.
• Scripting experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools for automation and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Jira, dashboards, log viewers, replay tools, or similar triage and issue-tracking systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to distinguish between tooling vs stack behavior.

Responsibilities

• Correlate on-road issues with simulation scenarios to support issue reproduction, regression testing, and improved test coverage.

• Develop scripts for log queries, data extraction, batch tagging, and workflow automation.
• Maintain triage dashboards, filters, queries, process documentation, and supporting operational workflows.

HireArt is helping our client find detail-oriented and proactive SIM Triage Operators to identify, investigate, and route autonomous vehicle issues across on-road and simulation environments.

In this role, you’ll analyze simulation and on-road data to detect issues, investigate potential root causes, and support the reproduction and resolution of autonomous vehicle system behavior. You’ll use technical triage tools and scripting to investigate issues, improve workflows, and help ensure findings are accurately categorized and routed to the appropriate teams.

The ideal candidate is a technically minded problem solver with experience analyzing complex system data and investigating issues within autonomous vehicle, simulation, or similar technical environments. You’re comfortable working with logs, sensor data, video, and metadata, can use scripting to automate repetitive analysis, and consistently apply established standards to distinguish between tooling and system behavior issues.

As a SIM Triage Operator, you'll:

Requirements

• Scripting experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools for automation and data analysis
• Familiarity with Jira, dashboards, log viewers, replay tools, or similar triage and issue-tracking systems
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate potential root causes and distinguish between tooling and system behavior issues
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
• Experience maintaining technical documentation and operational workflows
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to consistently apply established triage standards and prioritization criteria

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience building or maintaining automation scripts and triage dashboards
• Familiarity with data analytics and workflow optimization tools
