Work Schedule: Full-time, 32 WTU June - May. Positions are available beginning June 1, 2025. Hours are typically Monday – Friday, with possibility of weekends. May include some early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
General Description: The PLU School of Nursing is seeking full-time, non-tenure-track Simulation Educator, Clinical Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing for our Tacoma and Lynnwood campuses. The primary teaching responsibilities will be in the prelicensure BSN, ABSN, and ELMSN (Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing) programs, with the possibility of limited teaching in the graduate program. This faculty position in the clinical teaching track involves teaching primarily in simulation with limited teaching in didactic courses, clinical courses, and lab courses.
This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences for nursing students in collaboration with the Simulation Center Director. This role ensures that simulation activities align with curriculum goals, competency-based education principles, and accreditation standards while fostering a realistic and effective learning environment. The Simulation Educator collaborates with faculty to integrate simulation into nursing coursework and supports students in developing clinical reasoning, technical skills, and professional behaviors. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs or the ABSN Program Coordinator, with ultimate accountability to the Dean of the School of Nursing.
