Job summary

Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping department at Silver Dollar City Resort in Branson, MO. This on-site role directs all housekeeping activities, ensures the highest cleanliness standards, and manages budgets, staffing, and safety programs to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience within a hotel, resort, or comparable hospitality environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading housekeeping operations at the senior manager, executive housekeeper, assistant director, or director level.
• Demonstrated experience managing high-volume guest rooms, public-area, and common-area operations.
• Working knowledge of hotel or resort laundry and linen operations.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, chemicals, equipment, linen management, laundry processes, and inspection procedures.
• Demonstrated experience managing departmental labor, scheduling, productivity, inventory, and operating expenses.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and organize the activities of the housekeeping department ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, attention to detail, product condition and service is provided.

• Approve, monitor, and adjust department schedules to meet customer demand while achieving productivity goals.

Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and organize the activities of the housekeeping department ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, attention to detail, product condition and service is provided.
• Oversee departmental P&L, business planning, productivity, budget and forecast development and inventory control activities. Use proper purchase order processes and checkbook accounting to ensure expenses are within budget.
• Approve, monitor, and adjust department schedules to meet customer demand while achieving productivity goals.
• Complete, in partnership with the laundry team, periodic inventories of all linen and terry products to ensure operational PAR levels are maintained.
• Ensure inventory control, replacement purchase decisions and requisitions, and budget decisions related to guest room linen.
• Ensure Common Area cleanliness exceeds standards across the Resort. Familiar with terrazzo or floor care maintenance.
• Analyze data and compile reports on expenditures, wages, labor, supplies, etc. in relation to hotel financial budgets and forecasts.
• Hold regularly scheduled meetings with the housekeeping team to review past and future performance of service, quality and general information concerning guest and employee satisfaction.
• Model effective communication, providing guidance, direction, feedback, coaching, mentoring, training, recognition and support. Provide development opportunities.
• Lead safety efforts for areas of responsibility including ensuring all company safety procedures, standards, and policies are followed.
• Conduct frequent and regular property walks, interior and exterior, identifying and addressing defects.
• Liaise with engineering/maintenance leadership on building an effective guest room Preventative Maintenance/General Clean/Work Order programs.
• Implement inventory controls for linens, supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure Hosts have the tools to do their job.
• Develop goals for direct reports, provide regular performance feedback and deliver formal performance evaluations.
• Ensure a positive and supportive work environment for all Hosts resulting in high levels of Host engagement, recognition and job satisfaction.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition organization to ensure staffing levels are maintained.
• Manage contractor/vendor scope of work, contracts and insurance requirements.
• Participate in resort’s Manager On Duty program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience within an upscale, full-service, destination, or family resort environment, preferably with 200+ guest rooms.
• Previous hotel or resort pre-opening/opening experience.
• Experience overseeing an on-property commercial laundry operation.
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems, Housekeeping technology, and Ecolab or comparable commercial chemical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field and/or equivalent hospitality leadership experience; bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout guest floors, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house spaces.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and lift as required within a Housekeeping, laundry, and common area environment.
• Ability to push, roll, and move laundry bins, that can exceed 250lbs. Exerting up to 70lbs of force.
• Ability to inspect guest rooms, public spaces, laundry areas, and resort facilities throughout the property.
• Ability to safely operate or demonstrate the proper use of Housekeeping, Laundry, & common area equipment when necessary.
• Ability to work in environments involving cleaning products, laundry chemicals, heat, humidity, and commercial cleaning equipment.

Must be able to work varying schedules based on occupancy and resort operational needs.
