Job description

SIL Engineering Technician - MV-75

Location: Arlington, TX

Job ID: #71030

Pay Range: $35-45 an hour
6+ month contract

Responsibilities:
  1. Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings.
  2. Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and lab infrastructure equipment.
Skills Required:
  1. Ability to crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
  2. Soldering skills to the J-STD.
  3. Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams.
  4. Ability to read mechanical drawings and diagrams for metal fabrication and assemblies.
  5. Familiarity with test equipment, troubleshooting, wiring, and isolation.
  6. Experience wiring serial data interfaces such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, IEEE-488.
  7. Experience installing fiber optic cabling for reflective memory hardware.
  8. Proper and safe use of hand tools and shop equipment.
  9. Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  10. Familiarity with ESD and FOD practices.
Education:
  1. Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  2. High School diploma required.
Experience:
  1. Minimum 5 years in a technical industry.
  2. Military experience in aircraft/systems maintenance is a plus.
  3. Ability to attain security clearance if needed.
  4. Good oral and written communication skills.
  5. Team player attitude.
