- Locate where the traffic signs and other apparatus are to be installed.
- Fabricate and install signs, posts, delineators, barricades, cones, and raised pavement markers.
- Install traffic control signs on roadways in accordance with MUTCD guidelines.
- Load and deploy cones and barricades.
- Program and deploy message boards and arrow boards.
- Clean, repair, replace, and maintain existing signs and other traffic control devices.
- Manage and maintain inventory of materials on the work truck.
- Complete tree trimming to aid in sign visibility following FDOT Vegetation Control for Safety.
- Ensure proper record keeping in the Cartegraph work order management system after the installation of traffic control signs has been completed for asset management.
- Review the work queue daily to ensure citizen requests/concerns are addressed.

We will train you all that you need to know!
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- One year of experience in construction or maintenance and repair.
- Must successfully complete the International Municipal Sign Association (IMSA) sign and road markings course Level I within one year from the date of hire.
- Must successfully complete the International Municipal Sign Association (IMSA) sign and road markings course Level II within two (2) years from the date of hire.
- Must successfully complete Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) within six (6) months from the date of hire.
- A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Physical Demands: Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay: $18.21 (Step 1)
Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.
