Job summary

Signature Hospice in Bend, OR is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain (PRN) to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families navigating end-of-life care. The role offers a flexible PRN schedule and the chance to work within an interdisciplinary hospice team.

You will conduct spiritual assessments, support through grief and illness, and coordinate with clergy to meet patient needs. A seminary degree and experience in pastoral care are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (MDiv, BD, or equivalent).
• Experience supporting individuals and families through grief, loss, or serious illness.
• Hospice, healthcare chaplaincy, or pastoral care experience preferred.
• Ability to work respectfully within diverse faith traditions and cultures.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual assessments and ongoing spiritual care to hospice patients and families.
• Support patients and loved ones through illness, grief, loss, and end-of-life transitions.
• Collaborate with nurses, social workers, physicians, and other hospice team members.
• Coordinate with community clergy and faith leaders to meet patient needs.

• Conduct memorial or funeral services upon request.
• Help educate staff and volunteers on spiritual care and hospice philosophy.
