Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Cryptologic Linguist to support national security by interpreting foreign communications and presenting findings to analysts. You will earn a security clearance and work with signals equipment to detect, acquire, geolocate, identify, and exploit foreign signals.

Training includes Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training; non-fluent language candidates receive language instruction.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between ages 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze foreign communications
• Recognize changes in transmission modes and notify the appropriate authority
• Provide transcripts and translations from foreign communications
• Provide translation expertise to analysts
