Job summary

CN is seeking a Signals & Communications Apprentice to install, repair, test, and maintain railway signaling and wayside systems. You’ll work on diverse equipment across North America and receive paid training in a safety‑first environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of CN’s apprenticeship program.
• Valid Driver’s License and CDL.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 85 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, test, and inspect signal systems and apparatus.
• Perform construction duties including digging trenches and wiring.
• Ensure highway grade crossing protection and related systems.
• Use hand tools and test instruments to install or repair equipment.
• Follow CN safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
