Job summary

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Inc. seeks a seasoned engineer to support the AN/SPY-1 Signal Processor subsystem across radar variants.

You will analyze design behavior, assist with legacy unit recovery, and help develop prototype subassemblies and test capabilities to sustain weapon system timing and data processing functionality. You will coordinate with systems and test engineers, contributing to ITDPs and depot activation while ensuring compliance with NAVSEA/METCAL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Understanding of digital processing architectures, A/D conversion, timing synchronization, and signal conditioning.
• Experience with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair at the board and component level.
• Familiarity with tools for signal integrity analysis, logic analyzers, and boundary scan testing.
• Read, interpret, and reverse-engineer technical data, schematics, and embedded processing logic.
• Experience developing or reviewing test procedures and technical documentation for government sustainment programs.
• Able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Serve as an engineer supporting the AN/SPY-1 Signal Processor subsystem across radar variants.
• Analyze and document design and functional behavior of legacy signal processor components.
• Support design recovery and traceability efforts from limited data or harvested hardware.
• Define and support development of prototype subassemblies, repair processes, and test capabilities.
• Develop and validate functional test procedures, signal flow diagrams, and performance benchmarks.
• Identify components at risk due to obsolescence and support alternate part qualification or redesign.
• Coordinate with systems engineers, test engineers, and OEM partners to align with interface requirements and timing/data processing.
• Provide input to ITDPs, depot stand-up planning, and maintainer training materials.
• Ensure test and repair processes comply with NAVSEA and METCAL standards where applicable.
