Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to test, overhaul, repair, and troubleshoot SPY-1 radar signal processor in a depot environment. You will diagnose faults at the card/module level, perform verification testing, maintain test equipment, and work with the engineering team to report findings.

Experience with AN/SPY-1 hardware is preferred but not required. Some travel in the first year is needed; travel will taper to a minimum thereafter.

Qualifications

• Strong background in digital and analog electronics troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to diagnose processor-based systems and timing faults.
• Experience reading schematics and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and modular hardware architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for reports and collaboration.
• Structured maintenance environment with attention to detail and config control.
• Willingness to travel initially to support training; later minimal.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, fault isolate, repair, and rework radar cabinets and modules.
• Perform verification and readiness tests and document results.
• Set up equipment using diagnostic tools and evaluate system performance.
• Interpret schematics and manuals to execute maintenance tasks.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per procedures.
• Replace components, solder/rework, and complete assembly rebuilds.
• Document actions, test results, and fault isolation clearly.
• Collaborate with engineering on root-cause analysis.
• Maintain compliance with safety, ESD, and controlled-material handling.
