Job summary

Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Signal Processing Software Engineer to support the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team. You will develop and integrate software and tools for the Navy’s P‑8A aircraft, focusing on acoustic systems and simulations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and proficiency in C/C++ and Matlab. The position offers a competitive salary range of $125k to $175k based on qualifications and location.

Job description

Responsibilities

As a Signal Processing Software Engineer with Sabre Systems, you will support the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team that develops and integrates software and tools for the Navy’s P‑8A aircraft. You will work on the Many‑Channel Programmable Acoustic Processor Stimulator (McPAPS) and operational acoustics software used to stimulate NAVAIR Anti‑Submarine Warfare (ASW) acoustic sensor processing systems. Your work will support testing the effectiveness of acoustic systems through signal generation and simulation on the P‑8A Poseidon Maritime Surveillance and Patrol Aircraft. You will also maintain the Operational Signal and Information Processing components on the platform.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions applying principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Update software or enhance existing capabilities using C/C++.
  • Write and maintain functional and implementation specifications.
  • Apply statistical analysis and mathematical techniques to develop acoustic signal simulation software.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and develop specifications and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area.
  • Utilize tools such as Matlab, Python, GIT, and Visual Studio.
  • Work in Windows and Linux operating systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and a minimum of 3 years of signal processing related experience.
  • Experience developing and sustaining software that performs signal processing using C/C++ or from Matlab prototypes.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux development environments.
  • Prior experience developing and maintaining requirement documentation.
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing & Communications concepts, including:
    • FIR/IIR filtering
    • Multi‑rate filtering
    • Analog/Digital communications (FM/FSK/GFSK)
    • FFT/correlation analysis
    • Software defined radios
    • MIMO
  • Intermediate knowledge of Matlab or equivalent tool.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain an industry certification required for a NAVAIR Privileged Access Agreement.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance (an active DoD Secret Clearance is highly desired).
  • U.S. citizenship.

Compensation

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract‑specific requirements. The general salary range for this position is $125,000.00 – $175,000.00.
