Job summary

Norbert is seeking a Signal Processing Engineer to join our algorithm and development team, focusing on remote vital sign monitoring from video. You will develop and validate algorithms that extract clinical-grade signals (heart rate, respiration) from camera data, collaborating with computer vision engineers.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering (or PhD), deep DSP and real-time expertise, and 5+ years in medical sensing.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering (or PhD)
  • Strong fundamentals in DSP, statistics, and real-time systems
  • Deep expertise in physiological signal processing (PPG, ECG, respiration, BP)
  • Experience processing low-frequency physiological signals with challenging SNR characteristics
  • Proficiency in both Python (prototyping) and C++ (production)
  • 5+ years industry experience developing signal processing algorithms for medical sensing

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement signal processing algorithms for extracting vital signs from video-based sensors (rPPG, rBP)
  • Develop real-time filtering, denoising, and feature extraction methods for clinical-grade accuracy
  • Build validation pipelines comparing video-based measurements against ECG/PPG/BP references
  • Assist in studies ensuring millisecond synchronization between video streams and reference sensors
  • Integrate with the computer vision pipeline (C++) for multi-modal signal enhancement
  • Architect cloud-based QA and automated verification systems for reproducible algorithm validation
  • Prototype algorithms in Python and C++ before deploying to production
