Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Signal Processing Engineer to join our Foothill Ranch team in California. You will develop discrimination algorithms for EO/IR sensors used in space and missile defense, handling real-time processing, feature extraction, and decision logic for robust classification in contested environments.

You will work with software, systems, and test teams to transition prototypes to production code and support customer engagements with mission-focused demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computing/Aerospace/Applied Math/Physics/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in EO/IR signal processing for aerospace/defense systems.
• Strong understanding of EO/IR sensor phenomenology and noise characteristics.
• Experience taking algorithms from design to production environments.
• Experience with modeling, simulation and testing workflows including Monte Carlo analysis or hardware-in-the-loop.
• Ability to work with software, systems, and test teams to integrate algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Develop discrimination algorithms for EO/IR sensors to classify threats vs. decoys/debris.
• Design signal processing pipelines: detection, feature extraction, image processing, measurement generation.
• Develop decision logic to improve classification under evolving threats.
• Analyze EO/IR sensor phenomenology: noise, SNR, resolution, environmental effects.
• Build physics-based models and perform simulations including Monte Carlo and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Create tools to characterize algorithm performance under countermeasures and degraded sensing.
• Collaborate with software engineers to productionize algorithms for deployment.
• Engage with customers to understand mission needs and demonstrate solutions.
