About the role:

As a Signal Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and installing critical signalling and communications equipment. Working both independently and within a team, you will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, and ensure compliance with safety and technical standards.

Key accountabilities include:

  1. Conduct maintenance and installation of signalling equipment.
  2. Perform scheduled servicing and fault rectifications.
  3. Investigate and report on signalling system incidents.
  4. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a safe and efficient railway network.
  5. Willing to work shifts including night shift, day shift, rotating 7:7 & 5:2.

About you:

You’re a qualified Signal Maintenance Technician with a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork. Skilled in fault-finding, maintenance, and installation, you take pride in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable and proactive, you collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to keep the rail network running smoothly.

In addition to this, our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate IV in Rail and Tram Signalling Systems.
  • Safe Working Certificate.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Willing to work in at least one of the above locations.
  • A commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023 and paid as an IMW (SIG & ELEC) 3.1 $61.8604 per hour plus super.
