Molex is seeking an SI Interconnect Engineer in Rochester Hills, Michigan to drive signal integrity across automotive and data center interconnects. You will employ 3D EM simulations, high-frequency lab measurements, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to optimize PCIe, USB-C, and Ethernet interfaces.

You will work with HFSS/CST, analyze NEXT/FEXT, and help translate EM insights into practical mechanical design guidance for robust interconnect solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics with coursework focused in Electromagnetics, Microwave Engineering, or Circuit Theory.
• 2 to 5 years of experience (With M.S. in Electrical Engineering / Physics) OR 1 to 3 years of experience (With PhD in Electrical Engineering / Physics)
• Strong desire to understand the "why" behind signal degradation.
• Ability to translate complex EM concepts into actionable design advice for mechanical teams.

Responsibilities

• 3D EM Simulation & Modeling: Full-Wave Modeling with HFSS or CST Studio Suite.
• Lab Validation & Characterization: High-Frequency measurements with VNA and TDR up to 20 GHz.
• Crosstalk Simulation & Discovery: NEXT/FEXT modeling and ICN calculation to assess isolation.
• Crosstalk Validation: Multi-Port measurements and correlation with simulations.
• Data Analysis & Automation: Scripting in Python or MATLAB to process large datasets.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Prepare reports and coordinate with Mechanical Engineers.
