Job summary

Molex is seeking a skilled Signal Integrity Test Engineer to lead design, development, and execution of SI test strategies for high-speed cable assemblies in our Arkansas Design Center, Conway, AR. This role collaborates across design centers and manufacturing plants to ensure product quality and test efficiency.

The engineer will lead test plans, use VNA/TDR/oscilloscopes, mentor junior staff, and drive continuous improvement in analytics and automation while aligning with customer standards.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience.
  • Proficient in Python scripting.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers.
  • Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA).
  • Willing to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop SI test plans, verification protocols, and compliance documentation for high-speed cable assemblies.
  • Characterize and validate high-speed connectors and cable assemblies using VNA, TDR, and other equipment per IEEE, OIF, MSA, and related standards.
  • Conduct simulations and modeling to support test fixture development and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality and sourcing to ensure lab capabilities align with the product roadmap.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation, and data analytics.

Your Job

Molex is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Signal Integrity Test Engineer to lead design, development, and execution of SI test strategies for signal integrity test activities for high-speed cable assemblies and related components in our electrical test lab at the Arkansas Design Center (ADC) located in Conway, AR. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, test efficiency, and alignment with customers and industry standards. The engineer will collaborate across design centers and manufacturing plants, supporting both NPD and production environments.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and develop test plans, verification protocols, and compliance documentation high-speed cable assemblies (e.g. Direct Attach Copper (DAC), Active Copper Cable (ACC), and Active Electrical Cable (AEC)) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform characterization and validation of high-speed connectors and cable assemblies using VNA, TDR, BERT, and other advanced measurement equipment and methodologies against IEEE, OIF, MSA, and other standards as required.
  • Conduct simulations and modeling as needed to support test fixture develop and assembly failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality and sourcing to ensure lab measurement equipment capability aligns with the current product development roadmap.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation frameworks and data analytics.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • B.S. Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry experience
  • Knowledge of scripting / programming languages i.e., Python
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) modules or Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support Molex sites and customers
What Will Put You Ahead
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of progressive engineering experience with a strong understanding of product High Speed testing and designs
  • Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, 4-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers
  • Electromagnetic simulation experience with software such as Ansys HFSS or CST Microwave Studio
