Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions seeks a Signal Integrity Engineering Manager to lead a high-speed SI team, guiding design, validation and production transfer for OverPass systems in telecom/datacom markets.

You will translate customer requirements into innovative designs, work with global customers, and drive technology roadmaps while mentoring engineers and sharing best practices across groups.

Qualifications

  • Require B.S. in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred.
  • 10+ years in engineering management leading high-speed SI teams.
  • Experience with SI tools: HFSS/Designer or CST Microwave Studio.
  • Hands-on high-speed measurement experience: TDR, VNA, PPGs, detectors.
  • Experience designing high-speed connectors/interconnects preferred.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Guide a team of signal integrity engineers on OverPass systems.
  • Collaborate with customers and product managers to define specs.
  • Translate requirements into designs, tooling, and production plans.
  • Lead development, qualification, and transition to production.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and global customers on performance.
  • Drive roadmaps and present visions to stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers and foster high-performance culture.
  • Share best practices and improve design workflows.
  • Address high-speed design challenges and ramp-up support.
  • Support Sales and Applications Engineers for new accounts.
  • Assist global factories with ramping production and testing.

Signal Integrity Engineering Manager

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally.

As Signal Integrity Engineering Manager for our OverPass Business Unit, you'll lead a dynamic team designing copper-based I/O cable assemblies for high-bandwidth applications—supporting data rates up to 448 Gbps/lane. This role blends technical depth with team leadership and customer engagement across next-gen cloud, data center, 5G, and enterprise markets.

  • Guide a team of signal integrity engineers developing advanced OverPass systems.
  • Communicate and work with customers and internal product managers to understand product requirements/performance specifications and convert those into new product designs, production tooling, manufacturing processes, qualification testing, and the transfer to volume production sites.
  • Translate customer requirements into innovative product designs and lead them through development, qualification, and transition to production. Ensuring the accurate and timely completion of engineering tasks
  • Collaborate with internal teams and global customers to define product performance and ensure engineering excellence. Coordinating with peers and other engineering managers within the organization to share best practices
  • Drive technology and product roadmaps, presenting vision and solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach engineering team members, fostering technical growth and clear communication.
  • Share best practices across teams and champion continuous improvement in design methodology and workflow.
  • Solve high-speed design challenges, including signal integrity, simulation, test methodologies, and production ramp-up support.
  • Supporting Sales and Applications Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise
  • Supporting global factories for ramping up production; advising methods and experiments of builds, measurements, and establishing test limits
QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience and proven engineering management experience leading high-speed signal integrity teams.
  • Expertise with SI simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS/Designer, CST Microwave Studio, or equivalent EM/SI platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed measurements: TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors, and related debug methodologies.
  • Experience designing or applying high-speed connectors and interconnects in communication, server, or networking systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, people management and communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams and influence technical direction.
