Job description

Position: Signal Integrity Engineer

Location: Nashua, NH

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM’s globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer with our HSIO Connectors Team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high speed electrical connectors and cable-based interconnect.
• Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction.
• Contribute to an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines.
• Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next high speed I/O interconnect products.
• Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high speed data transmission requirements.
• Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise.
• Identify and resolve signal integrity issues in PCB layout.
• Design, build, and measure circuit boards for measurement and verification of products.
• Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• 3 years of industry experience with an understanding of electro-magnetic principles for digital signal integrity.
• Experience in component design and application of high speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus.
• Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors, and similar measurement equipment.
• Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MatLab, and ADS.
• Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods.
