Piper Companies is seeking a Signal Integrity Applications Engineer to join a global leader in high-speed interconnect and cable technologies. This senior role offers a remote position with some travel to customer locations, enabling leadership in design and development of advanced cable backplane solutions.

You will lead system-level mechanical design, interface with OEMs, develop specs and modeling, and mentor junior engineers across engineering, manufacturing and product teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering supporting complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain/maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Strong CAD modeling knowledge (SolidWorks, ProE preferred) and mechanical design principles (tolerance, materials).
• Experience interfacing with OEM customers and cross-functional teams.

Piper Companies is looking for a Signal Integrity Applications Engineer to join a global leader in high‑speed interconnect and cable technologies while providing senior‑level technical leadership to support the design and development of advanced cable backplane solutions. The ideal Signal Integrity Applications Engineer will work remote role with some travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities for the Signal Integrity Applications Engineer:

• Lead system‑level mechanical design for next‑generation high‑speed cable backplane products, guiding programs from concept through production.
• Act as the primary technical interface with OEM customers, driving engineering discussions, resolving complex issues, and ensuring alignment across teams.
• Develop mechanical specifications, modeling packages, prototypes, and performance requirements that support thermal, structural, and high‑speed signal needs.
• Influence product direction by providing strategic insights, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.

Qualifications for the Signal Integrity Applications Engineer:

• 10+ years of experience as a Electrical Engineer supporting complex electro‑mechanical systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Strong background in mechanical design principles such as tolerance analysis, materials behavior, and CAD modeling (ProE/SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams and engaging directly with OEM customers.
• Familiarity with high‑speed interconnect requirements including thermal considerations, mechanical alignment, and structural integrity.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings to clients and internal teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).

Compensation/Benefits for the Signal Integrity Applications Engineer:

• Salary Range: $140,000 – $190,000 depending on experience and location.
