FASTSIGNS Pittsburgh is seeking a Sign Production Artist who blends design with hands-on fabrication. You will pre-flight Illustrator files, operate top-tier printers and CNC equipment, and apply vinyl to various substrates with a perfectionist eye.

You will contribute to a fast-paced shop, ensuring flawless signs and minimal waste while maintaining a clean, organized workspace and collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Illustrator Pro: you understand vector paths, layers and prep files for a plotter or router.
• Mechanical aptitude for light power tools and precise vinyl application.
• Detail oriented with a keen eye for clean, waste-free work.
• Physical ability to stand, lean over tables, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Growth mindset with a willingness to learn new machines and software.

Responsibilities

• The Pre-Flight Expert: prepare files in Illustrator for production with correct cut paths, bleed and color profiles.
• Precision Fabrication: operate flatbed printers, CNC routers/cutters and laminators.
• The Craft of Signs: apply vinyl to substrates without bubbles and dust.
• Quality Commander: perform final QA; bad edges or color mean it stays at your station.
• Shop Synergy: keep a lean, clean production area and perform basic machine maintenance.
