Job summary

Per Mar Security Services in Illinois seeks Flex Security Officers to patrol and secure premises, cover various assignments, and respond quickly to call-offs or extra coverage requests.

The ideal candidate has excellent customer service, strong communication, attention to detail, is at least 21, holds a HS diploma/GED, can pass background and drug screening, and is willing to work all shifts and travel within the Chicagoland area. Pay is $17 per hour.

Help make a difference in your community by working as a Security Officer with Per Mar Security Services!

We are seeking Flex Security Officers to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises. The Security Flex Officer will also work at various assignments and may be called upon to work with little to no advance notice to cover call offs, vacation leaves, and/or extra coverage requests. You may also perform other duties as specified in post orders.

The ideal candidate will be flexible with scheduling, be dependable, have excellent customer service skills, have great oral and written communication skills, and have a positive attitude!!

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields helpful
• Familiarity with security equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Pass a background check and drug screen

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Stand guard at security officer post, directing visitors, issuing access badges, and providing escorts as necessary.
• Log visitor data and other basic reports in security computer system.
• Conduct foot patrols in accordance with post orders.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies as directed in post orders.
• Look for and report potential safety hazards.
• Follow all client site specific duties, as required and outlined in post-orders.
• Work additional hours when necessary – fill open shifts, as needed.
• Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly and professionally in the performance of their jobs at all times as well as be in compliance with company policy and procedures as it relates to their job function.
• Assume responsibility for understanding and complying with Per Mar Security Services attendance expectations.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the Per Mar Security Services internal/external customers (including, but not limited to: current customers, prospective customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, supervisors and management) in a mutually respectful manner regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation and all other protected classes.
• When appropriate, inform customers of Per Mar Security Services of products and services and refer business to appropriate department.
