Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Sign Language Interpreter for a school-based role in Lexington, SC for the 2026-2027 School Year. The position is 1:1, part-time (25 hours/week), with a pay range up to $50/hour.

You will provide ASL interpretation during school hours, supporting a student’s access to curriculum and social interactions while collaborating with the educational team. This role is suitable for both experienced school interpreters and those new to the setting.

Qualifications

• Proof of EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
• Proof of Written EIPA test - passing score.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-on-one interpretation in ASL for a student throughout the school day.
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff.
• Support access to curriculum and social interactions in the classroom.
• Collaborate with the student’s educational team.
