Job summary

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking a Sign Fabricator to join the in-house Sign Shop. You will fabricate standard and project-specific highway signs, operate CNC routers, punch presses, drills, and other tools, and ensure quality from layout to final product.

Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required.
• Previous experience in automotive, carpentry, HVAC, and repairing equipment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate Class I–III sign panels according to established procedures.
• Maintain inventory levels and calculate materials for orders.
• Operate sign shop machinery safely and efficiently; train on equipment as needed.
• Load/unload shipments and assist with palletizing orders.
• Communicate with customers to ensure sign orders meet specifications.
• Inspect finished signs for quality and conformity to standards.
