Job summary

Phillips Signs in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking an Operations Manager to run the shop floor from drawing to delivery. This hands-on leadership role gives you real authority to shape how the company operates and grow the business.

You will lead production across fabrication, assembly, paint and shipping, manage a roughly 10-person crew, ensure on-time delivery and uphold UL sign standards. Direct partnership with the owner offers a unique chance to influence company direction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fabrication/manufacturing.
• At least 2 years leading a crew.
• Read shop drawings to understand build.
• Strong scheduling and problem-solving under shifting priorities.
• Leads with high standards and cares for their people.
• Comfortable with basic software for scheduling, email and production tracking.

About Phillips Signs

Phillips Signs is a long-standing wholesale sign manufacturer in Grand Prairie. We build custom signs for sign shops and dealers across DFW: channel letters, cabinets, monuments and more. Under new ownership since January 2026, we’re investing in our people, equipment and systems. All of our work is local to DFW, with no out-of-state travel.

The Role

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to run the shop floor alongside the owner. You’ll lead production from drawing to delivery and help shape how a growing company operates. This is a hands-on leadership role with real authority, not another layer in a big org chart.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• MUST bring 5+ years in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years leading a crew.
• Ability to read shop drawings and understand how things get built
• Strong scheduling and problem-solving skills, especially when priorities shift fast
• A leader who sets high standards and takes care of their people
• Comfortable with basic software for scheduling, email and production tracking

Must Have Experience

• Experience with custom fabricated signs
• Knowledge of channel letters, LED illumination and UL 48 requirements
• Experience with CNC routers, letter benders and aluminum welding
